The rotating penis is fixed and will be in the upcoming update. I'll look into the other issue you mention but I can't say that I've ever seen that happen before so hopefully I can figure it out.

I don't know what Jak's answer would be on this but I assume it would be something along the lines of the two programs being different programs and that's just not how things work, unless they are specifically designed to work that way. You can't just take parts from one game and put them into another.

Unless of course you're asking why it wasn't designed that way, in which case I would imagine that it simply wasn't worth taking the time to do it.

The animation of "sofa2:all the way" is buggy. The penis rotate and disappear. 
By the way, did something change in the shader? It doesn't look like before. Not in a wrong way 

I will look at the animation to see if there is a problem.

As far as a shader changing, what shader are you talking about?

Were you ever able to log in? Has it ever logged in properly? If not then it is a problem with your internet connection. Are you using a proxy? The sim does not support proxies.

I've thought about it but I can't say for sure if it's in the future for the sim or not. The amount of time and money it would take to get a dev kit, program it into the sim, and get it all working correctly versus the number of people who would buy the unit and want to use it with the sim is the main factor I would have to determine.

Exactly. The full installer works and is able to locate the path with no trouble, so it's best to stick with that. We use one program to create the installer and a different one to create the patches. They are from the same company but there is too much difficulty trying to troubleshoot two programs versus one. We generally only release a new update ever couple of months anyway, so in most cases a full install is needed. The recent patch attempt was mainly to hotfix a couple of bugs that snuck in.

Thanks for the report. I've updated the Updates page to have people download the full installer, which is normally how updates to the sim work, and on the bottom of the page is a link to the smaller patch, which may or may not work.

the installer completely ignores the G:\ drive while doing the "manual" search. I believe this is because it is listed as removable, not because it is encrypted. My reasoning for this is because the updater also does not attempt to read from my E:\ optical drive, or from my I:\ SD card.

It's not reading the G drive because as I said above:

If it can't find the installation path in the registry info it then searches three places on your hard drive for the program. It searches the default install location (C:\Sex Sim), then the Program Files Sex Sim folder, then the Program Files\Ripened Peach Entertainment folder.

It doesn't matter if it's encrypted, removable, made of cheese, or whatever, it's never going to see that drive because it hasn't been told to in order to avoid searching everything.

With that said, the newer version of the patch does not have file searching at all. It hasn't since yesterday when we talked about this. I removed it so it ONLY looks in the registry. With a proper installation of Sex Sim the patch should see the registry path info, UNLESS the user has something blocking access to it, such as Norton or something like that.

In any case, this is why we usually don't release patches, we generally release the full install version, as it is easiest for everyone involved. I told Jak I think we should do a smaller patch this time. He warned me of the possible consequences. I did it anyway. Live and learn.
