It should and generally does. I think it's just because of the encrypted drive that's causing trouble. I can't think of any other reason why it wouldn't find the path info in the registry.

I have installed Sexsim to a TrueCrypt encrypted drive that is indicated as removable in My Computer.

It's the encrypted drive that is probably causing the problem then. Your best bet is to install the full version and that will bring you up to date without having to deal with the possible patch issues. Sorry for the trouble.

That's fine. You might not know but I'm fairly new in here and doing my best to take things over as gracefully as possible. There will definitely be some hiccups along the way.

I just changed it to be simpler for people who have a hard time reading. Also, it is set to only ask for the CAPTCHA to be entered for your first three posts. After that, it doesn't ask.

I'm looking into it and reuploading the patch to only search the registry. The drive search should not be searching those areas you mentioned. When you run Sex Sim, does it run fine or does it tell you that you need an update?

Also, what version of Windows are you running? You appear to be tech-aware. Do you have any sort of special installation or setup that might give a clue as to why the patch isn't working for you?

The captcha is there to stop spammers, which it does to a great degree. When we tried easier captchas they got right through. I'm sorry if you have difficulty reading it.

No need to get snarky. The patch is properly coded to first search the registry for the Path to Sex Sim. It searches for the sexsim.exe file.

If it can't find the installation path in the registry info it then searches three places on your hard drive for the program. It searches the default install location (C:\Sex Sim), then the Program Files Sex Sim folder, then the Program Files\Ripened Peach Entertainment folder.

If it can't find the info in the registry then there is something wrong. It then tries to find it on your hard drive, but in a proper installation it will find it in the registry.

Do you already have Sex Sim installed? Where is it installed to?

If you have trouble with the installer, then it's probably easiest to download the currently up to date full version and install that.

We have released a patch for people running version 1.7 (October, 2013). This patch will update the sim to version 1.7b. You can download the patch here: http://www.sexsim.com/updates.php

This patch fixes a few bugs that slipped into the last update:

Variations will now properly show for male\female interactions. Some of them were missing, now they are not.
Placement issues have been fixed for certain animations.
Various small bug fixes and speed-ups.
