Practical Explanation? No!
Though I do believe your theology is a good one, you are either young or very old and ignorant. Life, which is tangible, teaches us something quite different.
God, if there is one, is malevolent - doesn't care about us and is happy to see us suffer.
Prove me wrong on that, I didn't believe it myself until I really witnessed (his) deceit and trickery.
If you really think about it, God would not be good or evil, but neither, so it follows that our pain or pleasure is equally entertaining. That is if you believe.
If you don't believe, then you can be comforted in the knowledge that the Universe couldn't care less about you, and you are truly alone.
It's quite possible that we are reborn and that we get a second chance, but as you have pointed out - we wouldn't remember, so here again it makes no difference because we can't remember the mistakes we made before.
The only thing we know is our life now, and if we fuck that up there just isn't a second chance, and if you depend on a life after this one you are nothing but a fool that throws away what he has now.
Recently, I have been given very clear signs showing me a path to take, and I vigilantly followed that path believing it had to be true, it just couldn't be a coincidence. I believed there was a purpose or path that I must take, but my actions only proved to everyone that I really was the fool.
My hopes and dreams have been shattered, but God certainly got his entertainment. Thanks God, fuck you too.
